The College of Podiatric Surgeons was established under the Health Professions Act on July 1, 2010, to regulate the profession of podiatric medicine.

The College is working through a transitional implementation period and will assume responsibility for regulating the profession when the current Podiatrists Act is repealed on February 1, 2011.  Until then, the BC Association of Podiatrists and the Board of Examiners in Podiatry will continue to regulate the profession.
